Corporate social responsibility

NATS recognises that the products and services that it procures to support the delivery of its business activities can have considerable environmental and social impacts. Accordingly NATS is committed to building environmental and social considerations into its procurement decisions.

We engage in discussions to reduce the environmental impact of solutions developed to meet our requirements.

We engage in discussions to reduce the environmental impact of solutions developed to meet our requirements.

Within the framework of commercial value and business efficacy, NATS will select and work with those suppliers that are environmentally and socially sustainable. Similarly we will work with suppliers at tender and during contract performance to identify products and services which offer environmental benefits. We will also engage in discussions to reduce the environmental impact of solutions developed to meet NATS requirements.

In meeting these principles we expect suppliers through assessment and continued working arrangements to demonstrate that they:

  • have an environmental policy and build environmental sustainability into their products and services by actively working to avoid the use of polluting and banned substances, and by increasing the use of renewable and sustainable resources;
  • engineer into their products and services sustainability considerations and have arrangements in place that help build tangible reductions in environmental impact through the reduction of unnecessary waste, energy use and damaging emissions; and
  • act in a socially responsible and ethical manner by adhering to law and best practice in respect of employee welfare, through acting fairly and ethically in their business relationships and transactions and by ensuring that employees are not subject to abuse, discrimination and harassment.
