Undergraduate placement

This one-year opportunity is designed for students in their second year at university, who are looking for a sandwich year option.

You’ll find that you’re right at the heart of our organisation, working alongside our graduates and other business professionals, and as a result, you’ll gain a great insight into our organisation and market place.

Applicants for the Undergraduate scheme can choose a placement in one of the following three programme areas:

Engineering & Technology

We are living in an ever-changing world where technology not only gives us immense opportunity, but also leads to challenges and threats.

Engineering & Technology is the area where the future of Air Traffic Management solutions come to life – and where we bring new ideas and improvements to existing technologies.

Systems / Computer Engineer

Corporate

Our organisation requires careful financial management, balancing business needs, commercial vision and operational requirements to unlock success and build our vision for the future.

In this programme you'll gain a good insight into the processes and practices underpinning an effective business. 

Programme Management

Project Managers make sure strategically important projects and business changes are fully implemented across our business. And, given we have around 4,500 people at NATS, that’s no mean feat.

You might be working in technology or commercial projects, helping to ensure the solutions we create for our customers are implemented smoothly.

Graduate Scheme

This opportunity is open to applicants who have completed their degree. The two-year programme provides a clear route for progression and development.

You can extend the knowledge you’ve gained whilst studying, while at the same time having the opportunity to put the theory into practice alongside experienced colleagues.

A six-week opportunity for students who are not doing a sandwich year, but want to gain professional experience working in an exciting, forward-thinking environment.

    Register & apply online

    Apply online, register your personal information and complete a detailed application form.

    Tests

    Depending on the scheme you are applying for, you’ll be required to take a number of online tests to uncover your suitability.

    Assessment

    If successful, you’ll either be invited to either an Assessment Centre or interview at one of our sites

  • 4

    Offer

    Once the assessment is complete, you will be contacted by a NATS colleague who will tell you if your application has been successful. A vast number of applicants apply for jobs at NATS, so getting to this stage is a huge achievement!
