Transforming the Airport Experience: The Future of Smart Airports
Airports are gateways to the country or city they serve and they are important in creating a first impression of those locations for visitors. As such, they leave an indelible mark on the travel experience of all passengers. With many airports evolving into 21st century commuter stations, they now go beyond their basic function of getting passengers from point A to point B, looking to provide a very positive first impression of the city they serve while offering customers new experiences as they transit through.
Redesigning Our Airspace System
NATS expects to handle more than 770,000 flights over the United Kingdom by the end of the summer, beating last year’s figure by 40,000 due to the significant growth across many airports throughout the UK. The shift of consumer preferences regarding destinations is also creating major changes in the flows of air traffic in countries around the world. In addition, many airports are operating at levels beyond their design capacity, struggling to cope with growing passenger traffic.
