World ATM Congress

NATS at World ATM Congress

NATS is back at the World ATM Congress for 2017. Our stand will explore the needs and potential solutions that airspace users face both today and tomorrow. From Airports to ANSPs, the Military to Drone pilots, technology is providing new ways to increase flexibility and effectiveness of the flow of aircraft within airspace, even as volume increases. Our interest is how to introduce these advancements in aviation without challenging the primary objective, to keep skies safe.

Our team will be on stand 890 giving presentations and demonstrations, as well as promoting a number of key partnership projects we are collaborating on, including SESAR and The ATM Policy Institute with progress on deployment with our partner members.

The awards ceremony will take place during the World ATM Congress event in Madrid.

The ATM Policy Institute: market liberalisation

The ATM Policy Institute is a new think-tank created to drive the debate on how to improve the efficiency and performance of air traffic management (ATM) through market liberalisation. Formed by a small group of like-minded ASNPs, with the support of CANSO and Aviation Advocacy, the group’s first paper ‘The case for liberalising Air Traffic Control’ is a provocative document which outlines the potential benefits of greater market liberalisation in ATM and how it could be achieved. Join David McMillan, Chair of the Institute, Matthew Baldwin, Deputy Director General for Mobility and Transport at the European Commission and representatives from the airline industry, as well as other ANSPs and suppliers, for an engaging and thought-provoking debate about the future of the ATM industry.
